Genre fiction that reads like literature, written where you can watch.
UltraGenre is a small shop. The aim is good books with genre bones — mystery, fantasy, LitRPG, literary. I build them in the open. Some I write the old way. For some I use AI in the drafting, and those say so right on the byline. All of it exists to produce books worth your shelf space.
You'll find three things here.

I publish chapters and excerpts as the books are written. Judge them as stories: do they hold? Did you laugh, cry, get a little spicy or want to throw the book (or device) across the room, but in a good way?
The craft
How the books get made.
Half of what this site publishes is the making itself: the daily walk-and-narrate drafting, the editorial passes, the prompts, what the tools are good for and where they fall down. I put it up because I'd have killed to see someone else's version of it.
The argument
Where the ethics live.
People have strong feelings about AI and fiction. Fair enough; so do I. When a question about method matters, I take it up in the piece where it came up, and the books stay on the hook the whole time: if they aren't good, no argument saves them.
The authors
Who writes what.
Gregory Hampton writes the mystery novels, the old way. grAIgory Hampton is the byline on the AI-assisted works, and it travels with the drafts, milestones, and process notes. The fantasy/LitRPG books are coming soon. The near-twin names are deliberate — read the byline and you know what you're holding.
Here's the line. Nobody's trying to pass anything off. What I'm after is what I've always been after: a story that grabs you and doesn't let go. I sit in the chair. I decide what the book is.
